Tennessee loses RB commitment, may gain another

Tennessee’s lone running back commitment in the class of 2023 has decommitted from the Volunteers.

Will Stallings committed to Tennessee during a camp in Knoxville. He chose Tennessee over Arizona, Arizona State, Army and others.

He announced his de-comitment via Twitter on Tuesday.

The three-star back is ranked as the No. 64 running back in the class of 2023. He measures out at 6-foot and 222-pounds.

Stallings attends Clayton Valley High School in Concord, Calif.

With Stallings parting ways from Tennessee, Josh Heupel could look towards four-star athlete and 2023 commitment Cameron Seldon to play running back for the Vols. Seldon will more than likely project as a receiver though.

Stallings’ de-commitment opens up a spot for Khalifa Keith – the former Kentucky commitment who recently visited the Volunteers – to become Tennessee’s lone running back of the 2023 class. The three-star prospect has yet to make his college decision.

Tennessee won’t be lacking running back talent. The Volunteers signed two running backs in the class of 2022, including Dylan Sampson. Sampson has played quality snaps for Tennessee thus far.
