Perspective can be a really good thing. However, that can be tough to attain during the course of a season, so here’s a whopping pie of perspective about what Tennessee’s football team accomplished this season.

There have only been four teams that have scored 56 points or more in five different games during a season in SEC history. Texas A&M did so in 2012, led by Johnny Manziel. Alabama and LSU did so in consecutive years in 2018 and 2019, respectively.

The Vols are now amongst those teams after a 56-0 win over Vanderbilt, but wait, there’s more.

The Vols also led the nation in scoring following the 2022 regular season. Tennessee averaged 47.3 points per game this season, which is almost three full points better than Ohio State, which averaged 44.5 points per game. It’s not breaking news that the Vols were a potent offense. However, some perspective shows you just how great the Vols were this season.
