Tennessee football junior day visitors

Caleb Jarreau has an article up on Off The Hook Sports right now about eight 2024 prospects visiting the Vols this weekend for their junior day. He joined the podcast Friday morning to break down those recruits and the chances Rocky Top has to land each of them. They are the favorites for a few already.

Blake Toppmeyer talks Tennessee and Georgia

In the podcast’s second segment, Blake Toppmeyer of USA TODAY network joined the podcast to discuss the Georgia Bulldogs winning a second straight national championship and what that means for the landscape of college football. Tennessee football was also a topic of conversation.

Calhoun, Hooker and Toppmeyer looked at the impact Georgia being good has on the Vols as a program, and they also analyzed how good the Vols can be with their schedule in 2023. All three were optimistic.

Chris Lofton’s legacy

When Tennessee basketball faces the Kentucky Wildcats Saturday, the Vols will retire Chris Lofton’s number. Lofton played for UT from 2004 to 2008. He was a two-time All-American, set an SEC record with 431 made three-pointers and led the Vols in scoring his final three years.

Lofton also had testicular cancer that year. What he means to the Vols is a topic of conversation.
