It has come down to two schools for four-star offensive lineman William Satterwhite. Tennessee Football and Clemson are his top two schools.
The 6-foot-4.5 and 300-pounder will announce his commitment decision on Friday.
“I just feel like those two schools, just the education, the environment, the staff, those three factors really stand out to me,” Satterwhite said.
Satterwhite ranks nationally as the No. 191 prospect and the No. 11 interior offensive lineman in the 2024 class by 247Sports Composite. Out of Archbishop Hoban High School in Akron, Ohio, Satterwhite is the No. 7 prospect out of the state.
Tennessee Football, particularly head coach Josh Heupel and his staff, have made the Vols stand out compared to his other schools.
“Just the new coaching staff, and the plans they have for the future,” Satterwhite said.
He has also become close to offensive line coach Glenn Elarbee through his recruitment.
“We talk often,” Satterwhite said. “He’s a good coach. We’ve got a good relationship built so far.”
Satterwhite traveled to Clemson for an official visit during the June 2 weekend, and he officially visited Tennessee the June 23 weekend. He has received 32 scholarship offers. Some of his notable scholarship offers include Alabama, Auburn, Georgia and Florida.
His official visit to Tennessee involved talking to current players to get a feel for Tennessee.
“Just connect and see how it really is when you’re playing there,” Satterwhite said. “(They said) the staff, they really cared about the players and want to really change and bring new highlights of the program.”
Satterwhite’s top nine was made up of Tennessee, Clemson, Cincinnati, Auburn, Georgia, Alabama, Penn State, Michigan State and Michigan.
The offensive lineman was extended a scholarship offer from Tennessee in January. He visited Knoxville for the first time not long after, attending a spring practice in March.
He is not fazed by the uptempo offense, but actually likes the idea of wearing a defense down.
“I feel like the fast tempo really works tiring off the defender, so I feel like it’s something to get used to, but something that’s also super helpful.”
Satterwhite expects to make his college decision on Friday, July 7 around 3 p.m. ET.
