One of the top names for Tennessee football has locked in his commitment date. 2025 quarterback Cutter Boley announced on Twitter that he will be committing on Thursday, May 18 at 11 a.m.

The four-star signal caller recently announced his top schools on Twitter, with the Vols making the cut. Penn State, Kentucky, Alabama, Michigan, Oregon, Miami, Notre Dame, TCU and Florida State rounded out the rest of his top schools.

The  Lexington (Ky.) Christian Academy is trending towards the in-state Wildcats. Steve Wiltfong of 247Sports put in a crystal ball for Boley to choose Kentucky. The 6-foot-5, 203-pound quarterback holds offers from over 20 programs.

With an early commitment scheduled, it is possible for Boley to re-class to 2024. Kentucky, and other schools, are recruiting Boley in hopes of having him on campus in the class of 2024.

The talented signal caller sits as the No. 1 prospect from Kentucky in the class of 2025. He also sits as the No. 72 player nationally according to 247Sport Composite rankings.

Tennessee extended Boley a scholarship offer in June of last year. The Vols have already hosted the highly touted signal caller twice in 2023 — in January for a junior day and in March where Boley was able to take in spring practice.

Boley is fresh off of an impressive sophomore season after throwing for 3,901 yards and 36 touchdowns. As a freshman, playing for Hodgenville (Ky.) Larue County, Boley threw for 1,391 yards and 11 touchdowns on 83-for-165 passing. He also ran for 245 yards and six touchdowns.

Boley only has one official visit currently locked in. That visit is with Kentucky in early June.

“Just scheme, the fanbase, the culture, more importantly the coaching staff for sure,” Boley told 247Sports about his decision. “Just the guys I’m spending every day with. That was the biggest piece in this. We met a lot of great people and had a lot of great relationships. At the end of the day it came down to the best scheme and how I felt my relationship would be with the offensive coordinator and quarterback coach.”

Penn State and Florida State have recently emerged as schools that were trending for Boley. The quarterback could be a major pickup for Tennessee on Thursday.
