Tennessee football 2024 South Carolina OL target Kam Pringle to commit Sunday

Kam Pringle included Tennessee football in his top six schools earlier this month. On Sunday, the No. 1 prospect from South Carolina will make a decision.

Pringle announced he would be making his college decision on Sunday at 2 p.m. ET.

He will choose from Tennessee, Clemson, South Carolina, N.C. State, Georgia, and Florida.

Pringle seems to be leaning towards in-state schools South Carolina and Clemson. Brian Dohn of 247Sports projected the 6-foot-7 and 338-pound offensive tackle will end up choosing the Gamecocks.

Shane Beamer and his entire offensive staff visited Woodland High School in Dorchester, South Carolina via helicopter ahead of his commitment date. They watched him on the basketball court where he plays center for Woodland.

Kirby Smart also visited the four-star prospect, taking a helicopter of his own.

Due to NCAA rules, coaches are not allowed to speak to Pringle off their own college campus, making these visits more showmanship. Coaches are allowed to call Pringle, which usually happens once they leave the school.

The image of the coaches showing up to Woodland make an impression on the prospect. Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel is expected to make his appearance at Woodland on Friday.

Tennessee has a lot of ground to gain for Pringle. Pringle’s high school is just over an hour away from Columbia, and the Gamecocks seem like the school to beat for Pringle.

The Vols’ loss to South Carolina probably doesn’t help their case very much in the hunt for Pringle. Nevertheless, he was last on campus for Tennessee’s win against Florida.

If Tennessee football picks up Pringle on Sunday, it would be a huge get for Heupel and a nod to how far the Vols have come on the recruiting trail. However, Tennessee may be a few years out from winning recruiting battles like this one.
