They’re flying much more under the radar this year, but the baseball Vols are having success once again, just as the softball Lady Vols are. Caleb Calhoun and Dave Hooker touch on both in Off The Hook Sports’ Monday, June 5 podcast along with projections of the 2024 Tennessee Football eight-game schedule, ridiculous comments by Urban Meyer and Josh Heupel’s resume.

What will 2024 Tennessee Football schedule look like?

With the SEC staying at eight games when the Texas Longhorns and Oklahoma Sooners join in 2024 while moving to no divisions, rivalries are supposed to stay in tact. Which teams will Tennessee Football play that year beyond just their permanent yearly rival, assuming that rival is the Vanderbilt Commodores?

Urban Meyer whines about NIL

In a recent interview, former Florida Gators and Ohio State Buckeyes head coach Urban Meyer called NIL a “fancy way of cheating.” Given his track record of player arrests and covering for assistant coaches with legal issues, does he have any leg to stand on when making a morality case?

Josh Heupel and Tennessee Football coaches’ second seasons

With an 11-2 record last year, Tennessee Football head coach Josh Heupel’s second season was among the best in Vols history. Who were the only coaches to do better their second year on Rocky Top? Which coaches had comparable second seasons? How small is this list?

Brian Kelly or Josh Heupel

Arguably the only two elite schematic coaches offensively in the SEC who haven’t won a national title but are at schools where they could win national titles are LSU Tigers head coach Brian Kelly and Tennessee Football head coach Josh Heupel? Which coach is better amongst the two?

Diamond Vols’ success

Largely thanks to an epic 14-inning game at the Clemson Tigers Saturday, Tennessee Baseball reached its third straight NCAA Super Regional. Meanwhile, the Softball Lady Vols reached the Women’s College World Series national semifinals by winning two of three over the weekend.
