LaFratta’s Locks: Week 7

Kansas vs. Oklahoma

Jaylon Daniels is likely out for this game, but don’t count them out yet. Their backup QB is pretty good. In the loss against TCU, Bean threw for 262 yards with a completion rate of 66.7% with 4 touchdowns and only one interception. On the opposite side, Oklahoma has given up. Brent Veneables is fighting for his job right now, and Josh Heupel is looking more and more enticing to the Sooners.

I’m taking Kansas +9.

Arkansas vs BYU

KJ Jefferson is back for the Razorbacks and BYU won’t be able to handle him. This BYU team lost to Notre Dame by 8 (a team that lost to Marshall), as well as Oregon by 21 (a team that got destroyed by Georgia). In the game against Utah St, a team that Alabama held scoreless and beat by 55 points in the first game of the season, BYU won by only 12. Arkansas will win this game outright.

I’m taking Arkansas +1.

Georgia vs Vanderbilt

Georgia got the win last week but was held scoreless in the first quarter against a very bad Auburn team. Georgia has struggled a bit offensively and scored 21 points in the fourth quarter to put the game away. I don’t trust these Bulldogs and I don’t see them routing Vanderbilt by 30+ points.

I’m taking Vanderbilt +37.5

Kentucky vs. Miss St

We’ve seen what Mississippi State can do and Will Rogers is the key to their success. Kentucky’s defense is decent, but with a less than 100% Will Levis, they lose their edge. The abysmal South Carolina Gamecocks handed this Kentucky team their second loss of the season, with the Wildcat defense allowing 9.3 yards per pass and 356 yards of total offense. Will Rogers should enjoy his day.

I’m taking Mississippi State -3.5.
