Heisman Watch: Tennessee QB Hendon Hooker continues to climb the charts

Once a long shot to win The Heisman Trophy, Hendon Hooker could soon become the favorite if things break his way on Saturday.

After Hooker’s performance in a 52-49 win over Alabama on Saturday, Hooker’s odds have improved to 4-to-1. That’s second in the nation according to odds provided by Draft Kings.

Hooker still trails Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud, who has been the favorite all season. Ohio State was off last weekend. The Buckeyes will host Iowa on Saturday. Hooker surpassed Southern California quarterback Caleb Williams over the weekend. The Trojans lost to Utah 43-42 on Saturday, which certainly hurt his chances.

Stroud is still a considerable favorite. He’s nearly even odds to win the award.

Here are the updated odds:

Ohio State QB CJ Stroud +110

Tennessee QB Hendon Hooker +425

USC QB Caleb Williams +850

Michigan QB Blake Corum +1200

Alabama QB Bryce Young +1800

Tennessee plays UT-Martin on Saturday. That should only help Hooker’s chances.
