It was a busy recruiting weekend for Tennessee Football. Among the prospects the Vols hosted was four-star athlete Braylon Burnside.

The Starkville (Miss.) High School prospect doesn’t hold an offer from Tennessee yet, but he expects to receive one from the Vols this spring.

“I enjoyed myself watching the game,” Burnside told Off The Hook. “I’ve never seen that many fans at a spring game. It was definitely a fun thing to watch the fans fill up the seats in the stands in like 10 minutes.”

Burnside is being recruited by Tennessee to play on the offensive side of the ball. As a receiver, Burnside went for 11 touchdowns and 1,198 yards while averaging over 15 yards a catch. His contributions helped lead Starkville to a Mississippi 6A State Championship.

Wide receivers coach Kelsey Pope made sure to make Burnside feel prioritized during his time on Saturday.

“He sees me as a receiver, He said he hopes to come out here in the spring and watch me play,” Burnside said.

Burnside ranks as the No. 14 athlete in his class, and the No. 7 athlete. Nationally, he is the No. 170 prospect. He currently holds over 20 offers, and he expects to add Tennessee and LSU once spring is over.

While on his visit, Burnside got to visit with Dont’e Thornton and Nico Iamaleava in the locker room after the game.

“They told me just be patient, don’t rush anything,” Burnside said. “They haven’t offered me yet but they will soon, but Tennessee is on the main list. Once I settle down with Tennessee and LSU, I’ll probably drop my top-ten.”

As Burnside chops his list of schools down to 10, the Vols left a lasting a lasting impression. He called Tennessee “probably” one of his top schools.

Friends with current Tennessee commitment JJ Harrell, the duo visited Tennessee together on Saturday. Burnside said they would be an “unstoppbale duo” together.

Harrell has become a peer recruiter in the 2024 class, but made sure to let Burnside know it is his decision.

“He said wherever my mind goes, he good,” Burnside said. “He told me Tennessee was nothing but love, the fans the staff. Tennessee definetely got my attention.”
