Vol fans don’t have to worry about Tennessee’s top recruit of the 2023 class making any last minute changes.

Five-star prospect Nico Iamaleava committed to Tennessee in march and remains fully committed to the Volunteers.

“There’s a lot of teams knocking on the door, man,” Iamaleava told Rivals247. “They’ve just been in my Twitter lately, and I tell them all the same thing. I honestly don’t even respond. But, yeah, I’m locked in.”

Head coach Josh Heupel and quarterback coach Joey Halzle are making sure the  No. 3 quarterback in the class of 2023 knows he is a priority for the Volunteers. Both Heupel and Halzle traveled to California over the bye week to visit Iamaleava.

Iamaleava didn’t feel any extra nerves when playing in front of his future coaching staff. The five-star prospect has built a family-like relationship with Halzle and Heupel.

“I look at coach Joe (Halzle), coach Heupel like family,” Iamaleava told on3. “It’s just like playing in front of my family really for me.”

The 6-foot-5, 195-pound signal caller showed out for his future coaches with five touchdowns at halftime, tallying 247 yards for Downey Warren High School.

Iamaleava was last in Knoxville for Tennessee’s win against Florida.

As we approach early signing day, Iamaleava doesn’t have any plans to visit anywhere else. He is expected to be back on Rocky Top for the matchup with Alabama on Oct. 15, and on campus when Tennessee hosts Kentucky on Oct. 29. He may even travel to Baton Rouge when Tennessee travels to face LSU.

Iamaleava will be an early enrollee, joining the team in December. Following the departure of Hendon Hooker, Iamaleava will enter a quarterback competition with Tayven Jackson and Joe Milton, who still has one year of eligibility remaining.
